Week of Oct 31 - Nov 4

Happy Halloween!  Thanks to everyone who sent snacks for our party.  I hope everyone stays safe and dry out there tonight.

Curriculum:
  • Math: We continue to add and subtract 3- and 4-digit numbers.  Please practice basic facts at home.  Also, students have a tough time estimating numbers before adding and subtracting the bigger numbers.  You could help at home by showing your kids how you use estimation (e.g. at the grocery store, etc.) and even by giving them random numbers and having them round them for you.
  • L.A.
    • Spelling: New words - Lesson 4 this week.
    • Writing: Students will be doing self-evaluations of their journals and Friday Letters.
  • Science: We will be looking at how light can be broken and mixed, and how lenses affect light.
  • Social: We are finishing our travels through the Rocky Mountain region.

This Week's Schedule:
Monday:
  • Friday Letters due
  • Halloween parade and party in the afternoon

Tuesday:
  • Dance Troupe at lunch for those students involved
  • Tone It Up Tuesday - bring a water bottle!
  • Library books due please

Friday:
  • Frolicking Friday - dress for the weather!
